Every account has the ability to be a merchant account, just follow the normal onboarding process.
One key thing to consider during account setup is your reserve currency. You have the options to select from USD, BTC, ETH, or PAYMENT CURRENCY.
No matter your reserve currency, SpankPay collects a 0.5% fee on every withdrawal. All other fees are dependent on the transaction and your reserve currency. Here’s a list of the unique characteristics of each reserve currency and their associated fees.
USD
1% (or min) swap fees on all incoming payments.
0.2% banking fee to withdraw to USD banking account.
1% (or min) swap fee for non USD fiat withdrawals.
1% swap fee + gas fee for USDC withdrawals.
Best option for avoiding the volatility of crypto markets.
BTC or ETH
1% swap fee on incoming non-reserve payments.
1% (or min) swap fee for all fiat withdrawals.
No minimums on withdrawals to external wallet (must match reserve currency). Must pay gas fee.
Best for BTC or ETH enthusiasts.
Payment Currency
Never pay incoming swap fees!
